What Therapy is like with Fiona...

In my sessions I invite you to bring yourself just as you are, where you can share your story and be heard, seen, and supported.

Together we will look at the experiences that have shaped you, the patterns that keep showing up, and the moments that deserve to be understood differently.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and aims to help you examine your story from new angles and find new, or deeper, meaning and strength within it. This can help you identify what supports you, what holds you back, and what needs to change.

I consider it a great honour to be a witness to your story, to help you establish practical ways to move forward and step into your power and autonomy. I aim for clients to feel equipped to live everyday so your story going forward reflects who you are becoming, not just where you have been.

Healing begins
with being heard.

Let's
find the words for your feelings,
see your strength within the hurt, & understand
the parts of your story needing
to be heard.

What is EMDR Therapy & How Can it Help...

Sometimes our brains hold on to parts of scary or upsetting memories in a way that is incomplete, kind of like when a single line of a song is stuck in your head.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy helps your brain complete those memories so they aren't stuck on repeat and don’t feel so intense or distressing anymore.

In an EMDR session, we might do gentle exercises like moving our eyes back and forth, tapping our hands, or using sounds that go left and right. This helps both sides of your brain talk to each other so your brain can finish processing what happened so it can stop replaying it.

EMDR can help clients process experiences such as fear/anxiety, bullying, accidents, family conflict/divorce, trauma, or loss, and patterns of self-doubt in a gentle, developmentally appropriate way.

Fiona offers EMDR as a structured yet compassionate approach to help individuals of all ages nurture emotional regulation, self-esteem, and resilience, which can improve their daily functioning and allows them to have more agency throughout their lives.
