What Therapy is like with Steph...

In sessions with Steph, clients can expect her to be enthusiastic about meeting their counselling preferences, co-creating goals, and working together to define what “progress” uniquely means for them.

Clients would describe her approach as gentle, grounded, challenging, and sometimes humorous. She highlights client’s strengths and helps them gain direction while effectively handling the pain and suffering that come along with being human.

Steph uses an integrative approach tailored to each client’s specific needs, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy.

She values cultural humility and adopts a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive approach that honours the unique experiences of each client.

Embracing a lifelong learning mindset, Steph engages in ongoing training to expand her skillset. She is currently pursuing further training to support clients who struggle with codependency in their relationships, as well as those who have experienced narcissistic abuse and gaslighting.

Sex Therapy

For those seeking a Therapist for Sex, Sexuality & Intimacy Issues for Individuals, Steph helps clients talk about these topics with more ease. She is also in the process of pursuing further education to become a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP) and continues to further her education in sex therapy.

Therapy for Perfectionism

Looking to get help with perfectionism? Steph helps people explore the root cause of their perfectionism,  how is it helpful vs how is it harmful. Once the cause of the need for perfection is determined,  Steph helps her clients to overcome the challenges that come from perfectionism at work, in one's home life and socially. The big question is how to fix perfectionism, and the answer might be slightly different for everyone, and Steph can help guide you towards a deeper understanding of why you lean towards perfectionism, and how to move forward in a new way.

From my work with clients, I understand the courage it takes to be vulnerable and ask for help for difficult or taboo topics. therapy can help you create meaningful change aligned with your goals and values.
