Individual Therapy

One-to-one counselling sessions are for those who want to work towards addressing the personal, emotional, or mental health issues they are experiencing. This may include therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, and stress, or exploring anger, emotional disturbances, body image concerns, addictions, and identity exploration. Counselling involves applying psychotherapy approaches to empower individuals with tools and skills to help manage thoughts and feelings effectively to facilitate personal growth. At Niilo Wellness, In-Person Individual Therapy Sessions are available in Guelph and Online across Ontario.

Couples Therapy & Marriage Counselling

Couples Counselling supports partners in sessions together to address their unique relationship dynamics and challenges including communication issues, intimacy concerns, and conflicts. Marriage and Relationship Therapy helps couples navigate grief and loss, understand each other's needs, and nurture healthy boundaries, with the aim of strengthening emotional connection, resolving conflicts, and enriching their relationship. At Niilo Wellness, In-Person Couples, Marriage & Relationship Counselling Sessions are available in Guelph and Online across Ontario.

Therapy for Children, Youth, & Teenagers

Tailored for younger individuals, this therapy deals with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and behavioural challenges. It focuses on helping children, pre-teens & teens, manage grief, friendship conflicts, and familial issues, while also supporting their emotional and developmental needs, to help them envision & strive towards their bright futures.

Student Counselling

Counselling for students and the specific challenges they face as High School, College & University Students including academic stress, anxiety, relationships, and self-esteem issues. Therapy for Students focuses on providing strategies for managing life transitions, building resilience, and enhancing coping skills to help students thrive both academically and personally. Psychotherapy is included in most Student Wellness Health Benefit Plans.
Niilo Wellness is located steps from the University of Guelph Campus making In-Person Counselling Sessions easily accessible and Online Sessions are also available.

 Relationship & Family Counselling

Any and all categories of relationships can benefit from Counselling. Relationship Counselling is designed to nurture friendships, sibling, co-parenting, or even professional relationships. This form of therapy helps two or more people navigate interpersonal conflicts, enhance communication skills, set appropriate boundaries, deepen understanding, and support within their relationships together. Counselling sessions for families aims to resolve conflict and address systemic issues affecting family dynamics such as chronic illness, family conflict, grief, and life transitions, within a supportive environment where all family members can express themselves and build healthier, more meaningful relationships.
At Niilo Wellness, Relationship & Family Counselling Sessions for two to five participants are available In-Person in Guelph and Online across Ontario.

Spiritual Perspectives in Therapy

Incorporating a clients' religious beliefs in counselling allows space to address emotional, mental, and relational health challenges, and explore the intersection of faith and mental health. Clients can work through issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts with an emphasis on their spiritual framework. This approach encourages personal growth and self-discovery, helping clients forge a meaningful connection between their faith and their overall well-being. Currently Niilo Wellness serves those seeking to work with Muslim Therapists or Christian Counsellors.
